This work depicts Leroy, one of Michael’s favourite models of the early 1970s, in the artist’s flat in Egerton Gardens. It is one of Michael’s early male nude paintings, very much in his style of the time; close-tones atmospheric paintings with strong blocks of colour, influenced by abstraction. This is number two in a series of three pictures, all entitled Leroy in a Blanket.
