Anatoli Zakharovich Davidov was a highly distinguished Russian painter, draftsman, and master graphic artist whose career spanned the defining eras of 20th-century Soviet and Russian art. Davidov’s immense talent was recognized early. After the war, he returned to his artistic pursuits in Leningrad. In 1954, he graduated from the prestigious Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture (The Academy of Arts), and was immediately admitted to the prestigious Union of Artists of the USSR.
Named an Honored Artist of Russia, Davidov exhibited extensively throughout his life both domestically and internationally, including notable showcases at the Graphic Arts Center of New York. Today, his work is held in the permanent collections of over thirty major museums and private galleries worldwide, standing as a testament to his romantic vision and technical brilliance.
