Orest Georgievich Betekhtin was a Soviet/Russian artist, who after graduating from the Repin Institute there, regularly exhibited his work together with the leading masters of fine arts of Leningrad. He specialized in historical paintings, landscapes, portraits, and still lifes. In 1956 Betekhtin became a member of the Leningrad Union of Soviet Artists. A retrospective was held at the St. Petersburg Union of Artists in 2004. Works by Betekhtin are in many important museums and private collections both in Russia and internationally.
