Oil on canvas, 96cm x 77cm, framed. Henner was noted for his use of sfumato and chiaroscuro in painting nudes, religious subjects, and portraits. This composition shows St. Sebastian being tended to by St. Irene, after he has been cut down from the tree, against which he is usually depicted.
