Norman Basil Town, (British 1915-1987), Figure in Landscape (with another verso)

£850.00

Ink and ink wash on paper, inscribed 'To such a pride on mind, labour seems too easy' (top left), 23cm x 24cm (41cm x 43cm framed).

Whilst studying at the Royal College of Art, Town developed several ideas for illustrating poetry, including, as here, Arthur Rimbaud’s ‘Season in Hell’. Great friends with Keith Vaughan, the Neo-Romantic influence is strongly evident in his work.
