After a career with the British Council in Asia, South America and the Middle East, he returned to London to study classical approaches to drawing and painting for three years at the London Atelier of Representational Art. His work has been shown at Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the The Royal Cambrian Academy and the Bath Fringe as well as group shows in London and South Wales. His studies in charcoal and pencil are exercises in the use of tone to express the passage of light over the human figure. He finds the slow, somewhat forensic, approach to creating a likeness an exploration, or meditation, on the “otherness” of the subject.
